Gathering Global Youth, Embarking on New Journeys of Dreams. On the morning of November 6, the 2025 Opening Ceremony for International Students was grandly held in the Mingde Hall. Over 50 new international students from 7 countries, having traversed mountains and seas, gathered at our institute, officially commencing their academic journey in China, filled with a thirst for knowledge and anticipation for cultural exchange. Pan Guoqiang, Vice President and Member of the Party Committee, attended the ceremony and delivered a welcome speech. Also present were heads of relevant functional departments, all staff members of the International Exchange Center, faculty representatives, and class advisors for the new students. The ceremony was presided over by Bai Jiping, Director of the International Exchange Center.

Vice President Pan Guoqiang delivered the opening address. On behalf of our institute, he extended a warm welcome to the over 50 new international students. He provided a detailed introduction of the profound history, distinctive characteristics, and efforts in international cooperation and exchange of our institute. He also gave remarks to all international students: First, Delve into Your Majors, Build a Solid Foundation of Expertise. He expressed his hope that all new students would cherish their valuable time for study, focus on the development trends of the transportation industry, dedicate themselves to diligent learning and thoughtful inquiry, and continuously improve their professional competence. Second, Embrace Diversity, Build Bridges of Communication. He encouraged students to adopt an open and inclusive mindset, respect cultural differences, enhance mutual understanding, and make our institute a platform for diverse cultures to blend and learn from each other, as well as a seedbed for Sino-foreign friendship. Third, Experience Zhejiang, Write Splendid Chapters of Youth. He hoped that students would take time beyond their studies to personally experience convenient transportation, livable environment, and dynamic development in Zhejiang, and bring their observations, thoughts, and experiences back to their home countries to aid their future career development.

Nursultan Ismelov, a teacher from the Kyrgyz State Technical University, expressed high expectations for the "Luban Workshop" constructed by our institute in his speech. He thanked our institute for accepting eight students from his university for study in China and expressed the hope to strengthen cooperation with our university to jointly promote the role of the "Luban Workshop" in faculty development, teaching resource development, talent cultivation, and faculty-student interaction.

Muhammad Gulov, an international student from Tajikistan majoring in Business English (Class of 2024), spoke as a representative of senior students. He shared his fulfilling two-year campus life at our institute and his experiences actively participating in various activities and competitions, delivering his speech in Chinese.

Stanislava Orlova from Russia, speaking as a representative of the new international students (Class of 2025), expressed her determination to diligently complete her studies and strive to become a youth envoy promoting vocational education cooperation and cultural exchange between the two countries.

This opening ceremony was not only a welcome event for international youth but also marked a new starting point for enhancing the quality and effectiveness of our institute's vocational education cooperation under the "Belt and Road" initiative. Moving forward, guided by the "Education and Teaching Innovation and Quality Improvement Action Plan (2025-2027)," our institute will practice the combination of "Going Global" and "Bringing In," actively integrate into the opening up of education, and polish the brand of "Study at ZJIC."
