On the afternoon of June 13, the Artificial Intelligence Empowering Industry and Expansion into Africa Seminar, hosted by the Zhejiang University Jinhua Research Institute, was successfully held in the Jinyi New Area. Our institute, jointly with the College of Engineering of Zhejiang Normal University, Jinhua Polytechnic University, Zhejiang Business Technology Institute, Zhejiang Institute of Communications, and Jinhua Technician Institute, initiated the “Sino-Africa Skills and Innovation Workshop” and was selected as a construction alliance member unit. Pan Guoqiang, Member of the Institute Party Committee and Vice President, was invited to attend the meeting. Bai Jiping, Director of the Academic Affairs Office (Director of the International Exchange Center), and relevant teacher representatives also participated in the meeting.
Themed “Digital Empowerment for Development, Going Global to Co-create the Future,” this seminar brought together over 150 representatives from government, universities, enterprises, and research institutions. They jointly explored how AI technology can empower the upgrading of traditional industries, help Chinese enterprises explore the African market, and promote cooperation between China and Africa in technology, economy, trade, and skills talent cultivation.
At the meeting, the “Sino-Africa Skills and Innovation Workshop” was officially established. In the future, it will focus on cutting-edge fields such as the digital economy, intelligent manufacturing, and green energy. Through technical training, project incubation, and resource linking, it will support the cultivation of skilled talents for enterprises expanding overseas, build a collaborative innovation platform for industry, academia, and research between China and Africa, and contribute to the skills enhancement and innovation/entrepreneurship of Chinese and African youth.

Subsequently, our institute will leverage digital platforms, localized cooperation, and policy coordination to bridge industrial links between China and Africa. By opening technical resources, co-building training programs, and promoting innovative achievements, we will promote Sino-African skills talent cultivation and industrial cooperation, contributing the strength of our institute to deepening sci-tech innovation cooperation between China and Africa and empowering skills talent cultivation and industrial upgrading.
