On July 31st, ZJIC welcomed the first batch of students from the “Chinese+Transportation” vocational skills “Double-Qualified Teacher” training program. The training course is initiated by the China ASEAN Transportation Vocational Education Alliance, hosted by ZJIC, organized by the Aviation College of ZJIC, co-organized by the Confucius Institute Teacher Training Center in Zhejiang Province, and supported by Hankou International Education Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd.
The training course attracted more than 60 teachers from nearly 20 colleges and universities in four provinces and six cities, including Guizhou Communication Polytechnic University, JiangSu Shipping College, Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade, Guangxi Polytechnic of Construction and so on.
Yu Yan, Director of Hankao International Curriculum and Teaching, Professor Xu Lihua, Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute Teacher Center in Zhejiang Province, Deputy Secretary General of the Zhejiang Education Association for International Exchange and Executive Director of the African Chinese Education Practice and Research Base at Zhejiang Normal University, Professor Pan Guoqiang, Vice President of ZJIC, Dr. Bao Liang, Director of the Office of the Confucius Institute Teacher Training Center in Zhejiang Province, Deputy Director of the African Chinese Education Practice and Research Base at Zhejiang Normal University and Deputy Director of the International Department at Zhejiang Normal University, and Chen Min, Project Manager of the Hankao International Curriculum and Teaching Department, attended the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Yuan Daofu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office and concurrently Director of the International Exchange Research Center of ZJIC.
Yu Yan stated that “Chinese+Vocational Skills” faculty is an important cornerstone for the sustainable development of international Chinese education. Hankou International is committed to providing an evaluation system for Chinese teachers worldwide through unified standards and professional examination services and helping to enhance their comprehensive literacy and abilities. This cooperation with ZJIC is an important measure to promote the development of international Chinese education. Through the training course, both parties will jointly explore and share the latest educational concepts and teaching methods, further enhance the professional quality and teaching ability of Chinese teachers, and look forward to laying a solid foundation for more cooperation projects in the future.
Pan Guoqiang emphasized the importance of vocational education going global and internationalization in his speech. He pointed out that the current national strategic deployment of serving “The Belt and Road Initiative” has brought unprecedented development opportunities for the internationalization of vocational education. Going global with “Chinese+Vocational Skills” not only helps to enhance the international influence of vocational education in China, but also promotes cultural exchange and cooperation between China and foreign countries, achieving mutual benefit and win-win results. He specifically mentioned that the “Chinese+Transportation” project is an important measure to enhance the international competitiveness of transportation industry practitioners and has significant implications for promoting the internationalization of vocational education.
Dr. Bao Liang introduced the policies and qualifications of teachers sent abroad by the government, and explained in detail how to select and cultivate high-level international Chinese teachers. Professor Xu Lihua provided a detailed interpretation of the International Professional Standards for Chinese Language Teachers, emphasizing the important role of standards in improving the professional quality of international Chinese language teachers. Chen Min introduced the content of the International Chinese Teacher Certificate exam and further education, helping participating teachers understand the exam requirements and learning paths.
Wang Yufan, Associate Professorfrom Hangzhou Vocational and Technical College and the first prize winner of the National Vocational College Teaching Ability Competition, showcased the demonstration course of “Chinese+Design” in Sino Italian cooperative education to the students. Dr. Zhang Zhen, Deputy Director of Jike Global Training Center, led the students to a high-quality training course on “Chinese+Automotive” with 12 foreign students from 6 countries including Brazil, Morocco, Australia, and Kyrgyzstan who were studying on campus.
The training course will last for 25 days, and the offline courses have been completed at the main campus of ZJIC in Hangzhou. In the next 23 days, online courses will invite experts in the international Chinese language field from universities such as Zhejiang University, Fudan University, Nanjing Normal University, Beijing Language and Culture University and Zhejiang Normal University.
The holding of this training class not only provides valuable learning opportunities for teachers, but also explores new paths for the internationalization process of vocational education. The training program not only strengthened deep cooperation with relevant international education departments and institutions, but also enhanced the professional competence and international teaching level of teachers. In the future, ZJIC will continue to expand educational exchanges and cooperation with countries and regions along the Belt and Road Initiative, promote the going out strategy of vocational education, and strive to cultivate more transportation professionals with international competitiveness.
