On July 9th, members of the “Mandarin Excellence Programme” summer camp, jointly organized by the UK Department of Education and Center for Language Education and Cooperation of Chinese Ministry of Education, came to ZJIC for training. This event was planned and organized by the UniversityofLondon and the British Council, and opened a journey of exploring Chinese culture and experiencing transportation technology for 57 British teachers and students. David WangandTanya Louise Beva,Officials from the Cultural and Educational Department of the British Embassy, Adam Davis, Program Officer of the British Chamber of Commerce, Zhou Hongxia, the teacher from Zhejiang Normal University, Yuan Daofu, Director of Academic Affairs in ZJIC, and all members of the International Exchange Research Center participated in the event.
Adam Davis gave a wonderful speech on the topic of “Why to Learn Chinese”. Students enthusiastically spoke up, expressing that Chinese is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world, China has a profound cultural heritage, unique culinary charm and enormous potential in the trade market, all of which are powerful driving forces for them to learn Chinese. Adam shared his experience of studying and working in China, and warmly encouraged everyone to deeply experience the unique charm of Chinese culture through learning Chinese.
Researchers from the International Exchange Center collaborated with British teachers and students to perform classic songs such as “Born to Be My Talent”. The melodious singing conveys friendship and understanding across borders, pushing the atmosphere of the scene to a climax.
Vice President Pan Guoqiang comprehensively showcased the unique charm and brilliant achievements of ZJIC to British friends who came from afar. He gave a detailed introduction to the profound historical background, outstanding faculty, abundant teaching resources and thriving international trend of ZJIC.
Pan Guoqiang also had in-depth discussions with the guests on the possibility of future cooperation. From short-term exchange student visits to summer camp exchanges, both parties have expressed strong interest and willingness to cooperate, jointly outlining a hopeful blueprint for the future.
During the visit, British teachers and students went to the Ancient Bridge Museum to experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture, as well as appreciated historical photos and exhibits at the School History Museum to learn about the development history of ZJIC. They also went to landmark training bases such as Digital Intelligence Transport Innovation Port and Low Altitude Economic Demonstration Zone to experience the cutting-edge technologies such as subway simulation driving and navigation simulation driving, closely contact aircraft models such as Airbus 330, realize the progressiveness and leadership of ZJIC in vocational education and teaching in the transport field.
In the future, ZJIC will uphold a more open attitude to deepen international exchange and cooperation strategies in multiple dimensions through the joint efforts and unremitting efforts of all parties.
