Recenlty, the 2024 annual meeting of the Higher Vocational Education Branch of Zhejiang Education International Exchange Association(ZJIEA) was grandly held at Lishui Vocational and Technical College. Wang Feng, Deputy Secretary-General of Lishui Municipal People’s Government, Lan Jingjing, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of Zhejiang Department of Education, and leaders and guests from 46 vocational colleges across the province attended. Pan Guoqiang, member of the school’s Party Committee and Vice President, Yuan Daofu, Director of the Academic Affairs Office (Director of the International Exchange Research Center), and relevant teachers attended the meeting.
At the meeting, Vice President Pan Guoqiang was invited to attend the Presidents’ Forum. He shared the school’s international education achievements in recent years from three aspects: overseas education, integration of industry and education, and cultural exchanges. The “Kazakhstan Luban Workshop” was selected as a national leader-level project, serving the national diplomatic strategy. With the strong support of the International Department of the Ministry of Education, the project was rapidly advanced and smoothly passed the acceptance inspection. In cooperation with Geely Auto’s Jikai Auto, the Jikai Global Training Center was established to help Chinese-funded enterprises “go global.” By conducting summer camps for overseas study and undertaking advanced training classes of the Ministry of Transport, a platform for cultural exchange and cooperation was built. In addition, Vice President Pan discussed with leaders from four other higher vocational colleges, including Zhejiang Tourism Vocational and Technical College, Zhejiang Industrial and Trade Vocational College, Zhejiang Textile and Fashion Vocational College, and Yiwu Industrial and Commercial Vocational College, on four topics: how to ensure the quality of overseas education programs and implement cultural co-construction, policy and system guarantees for implementing “Belt and Road” overseas education programs, how to serve the regional economy and cultivate highly skilled international talents, and new trends in school-enterprise cooperation under the “Belt and Road” initiative. Vice President Pan emphasized that in the process of promoting international projects, vocational colleges should fully consider “what others need and what we can do”, pay attention to the match between the needs of the cooperative party and the college's own capabilities, combine the college’s own characteristics, serve the regional economic development, and empower the “local” cultivation of international technical and skilled talents. Vice President Pan Guoqiang’s wonderful speech provided new ideas and directions for the international exchange and cooperation of vocational colleges and was widely agreed upon by the guests present.
This annual meeting collected 30 working typical cases from member units, including 10 cases of innovation in the “bringing in” mode of higher vocational education, 11 cases of exploration of “going out” international talent training models, and 9 cases of paradigm transformation of “re-upgrading” integration of industry and education. These cases fully reflect the remarkable achievements of the internationalization of higher vocational colleges in our province. The case written by Dr. Zhang Hua of our school, “In the Era of Intelligent Transportation, Zhejiang Communications Polytechnic Explores a New Path for Intelligent Connected Vehicles to ‘Go Out’,” was successfully selected.
