Recently, as an important parallel forum of the 2024 EducationPlus 8th (Wuxi) International Vocational Education Conference and Industry-Education Integration Expo, the 2024 North Africa and Middle East “Chinese+Vocational Skills” Education Coo peration High-Quality Development Seminar, guided by the Tunisian Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment, the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, the Egyptian Ministry of Education and Technical Education, the Ivorian Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship, and hosted by the North Africa and Middle East International Education Innovation Alliance, was held in Wuxi. Our school was successfully elected as the vice-chairman unit of the North Africa and Middle East International Education Innovation Alliance. Vice President Pan Guoqiang was invited to attend the conference and the high-end dialogue “From China to Africa-Innovation and Practice of International Talent Training in Vocational Education”.
Professor Muhammad Barkawi, Chairman of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North and Central Africa, Abdullah Mazuz, Vice Chairman of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North and Central Africa, Mostafa Sangar, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Technical Education, Vocational Training and Apprenticeship of Côte dIvoire, Shafiq Abid, President of a private university in North America, Ahmed Sherif, Vice President of Ibn Khaldun University, Muhammad Nizar, Vice President of Omnia Business and Technology College, Hajer Sayem Ep Shehri, Director of International Cooperation of Arab Science University, and nearly 30 representatives from government and universities of North African countries attended the meeting. Wang Yongli, former Secretary-General and Vice President of the China Education Association for International Exchange, Zheng Jian, person in charge of the International Cooperation and Exchange Division (Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Office) of the Vocational Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, Huang Kan, President of the Beijing Education Association for International Exchange, Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North and Central Africa, Liu Jin, Secretary of the Party Committee of Binzhou Vocational College, and nearly 300 representatives from Chinese government agencies and universities attended the meeting.
Professor Muhammad Barkawi, Chairman of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North Africa and China, said in his speech that the innovation alliance has promoted the cooperation and exchange of higher education between China and North Africa, built a platform for international education exchange and cooperation, promoted cooperative research in priority development fields, and enhanced the level of cooperation between Chinese and North African colleges and universities as well as international education and scientific research institutions. This is of great significance. We warmly welcome the newly joined colleges and institutions.
At the meeting, Chen Lu, Secretary-General of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North Africa and China, made a report titled “Annual Work Review and Future Outlook of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North Africa and China”. The ceremony for awarding plaques to the deputy chairmanship units of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North Africa and China was also held. Our university was successfully elected as a deputy chairmanship unit of the International Education Innovation Alliance for North Africa and China.
Party Committee member and Vice President of the school, Pan Guoqiang, was invited to attend the high-end dialogue of “From China to Africa-Innovation and Practice of International Vocational Education Talent Training”. Principal Pan mainly introduced the basic situation, running-school situation and department settings of our school. He emphasized that our school has close cooperation with the intelligent transportation industry and industry, taking enterprise demand as the orientation of talent training. Through school-enterprise cooperation, we provide students with high-quality internship platforms, focus on the cultivation of students’ practical skills, and truly achieve the application of what they have learned. At the same time, our school has deeply implemented the international running-school strategy, and built Luban Workshop and Silk Road College in countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Southeast Asia and Africa. It has forged a characteristic path of international development in accurately serving the “Belt and Road” construction. President Pan said that in the future, he hopes to further promote vocational education cooperation between our school and African countries, help African countries’ economic and social development and young people’s technical skill improvement, and inject new kinetic energy and vitality into the development of China-Africa bilateral relations.
In recent years, our school has attached great importance to the construction of internationalization, and has continuously made new breakthroughs in international exchanges and cooperation. In the future, the school will rely on platforms such as the China-Kyrgyzstan “Luban Workshop” and “Silk Road Transportation College” to further expand educational exchanges and cooperation with African higher education institutions, achieve international sharing of high-quality vocational education resources, inject new momentum into the school’s new round of “Double High Plan” construction and vocational undergraduate construction, and provide traffic talent support for the national “going-out” strategy.
