Recently, the Zhejiang “Belt and Road” Vocational Education Cooperation Docking Meeting, hosted by the Zhejiang Department of Education, was held in Hangzhou. The meeting aimed to promote the “going out” of vocational education in our province and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with countries jointly building the “Belt and Road”. More than 30 foreign university presidents and experts from countries such as Egypt, Tanzania, Nepal, Rwanda, and Thailand, as well as 12 vocational colleges in the province, were invited to attend the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Director Lan Jingjing of the International Department of the Department of Education. Our school and Jinhua Vocational and Technical University were invited as two Chinese vocational college representatives to make keynote speeches.
In the keynote speech session, Vice President Pan Guoqiang introduced in detail the school’s history, characteristics, and major distribution, and pointed out that promoting educational internationalization is an important part of the school’s development strategy. By sharing the work carried out in recent years in the construction of the Luban Workshop in Kyrgyzstan, the construction of overseas Silk Road colleges, the Ministry of Transport’s sustainable transportation humanities high-level training project, “Chinese+Transportation” teacher training, Jikai Global Training Center, international student training, and short-term student exchanges in China, Vice President Pan Guoqiang made suggestions on the subsequent cooperation dimensions and models with countries jointly building the “Belt and Road”.
During the negotiation and exchange session, many foreign schools expressed a strong interest in carrying out educational cooperation with our school and conducted in-depth exchanges and exchanged opinions with our school on professional cooperation, teacher training, and student exchanges. Foreign schools hope that both sides can arrange reciprocal visits to enhance understanding and promote exchanges and cooperation as soon as possible.
